So in the biggest sports news of the week, here are the picks for this week’s college football games. Considering this is the last major college football week of the season before conference championships and the playoff, this is going to be one of the biggest weeks of the entire season. The entire sports world will be watching what happens this week. Without further ado, here are my picks for this week’s biggest games.
Ohio State vs Michigan:
Even though this game is being played in Ohio State, I just don’t see the Wolverines slipping up in this game. Ohio State has looked out of sorts the whole season, and it has just barely been scraping by in games that it normally dominates. Michigan, on the other hand, has been suffocating on defense outside of its loss to Notre Dame in week one. While I think that Dwayne Haskins and J.K Dobbins will have big games, I don’t think it will be enough to compensate for Ohio State’s poor offensive line and lackluster defense. I think that Ohio State will keep it close for a while, but Michigan will use a big fourth quarter to win convincingly. Halftime score: 14-13 Michigan, Final Score: 31-20 Michigan.
Notre Dame vs USC:
Rivalry? What kind of rivalry is this? USC has had an AWFUL season this year, while Notre Dame has had one of its strongest performances to date. Notre Dame is also coming off its most convincing win of the season against Syracuse, while USC is coming off a terrible loss to UCLA. While rivalry games are usually closer than they should be, and while USC certainly does have the talent level to compete with Notre Dame, there is just no way that I can see Notre Dame losing this game. Notre Dame books its playoff berth. Halftime Score: 20-10 Notre Dame, Final Score: 38-17 Notre Dame
Oklahoma vs West Virginia:
If Oklahoma loses this game, the Big 12 is out of the playoff picture. Therefore, the rest of the conference should be rooting for an Oklahoma victory in this game. I think this game is going to come right down to the wire, and I think it might be whoever has the ball last wins. In this case, I think that Kyler Murray outduels Will Grier and puts himself firmly in the Heisman conversation. I think that Oklahoma wins on a last second field goal to keep its playoff hopes alive. Halftime Score: 28-24 West Virginia, Final Score: 52-49 Oklahoma
Washington vs Washington State:
Ahh, the Apple Cup. Washington State is the one with the playoff implications heading into this game; who would’ve thought this would be the case heading into the season? Anyways, I think that Washington destroys Washington State in this game and derails any playoff possibilities for the Pac 12. I think that Washington is hands down the more talented team, and I think they will prove it in this game. Even though Washington State is favored in this game, I don’t think they will be able to hang with Jake Browing and Washington. Good-bye Pac 12! Halftime score: 24-10 Washington, Final Score: 45-24 Washington
