Suggested Plays 7/7/14:
P- Adam Wainwright $10,900- He’s the top pitching option and for good reason. He gets to pitch at home where he has been dominant his entire career. The real thorn in his side on the bucs has been McCutchen, but he’s a thorn in everyone’s side. He’s opposing Charlie Morton who is sporting a 3.30 ERA and has been getting lit up lately. Advantage Waino.
P- Stephen Strasburg $9,600- He dominates at home and is coming off an 18.66 FP performance 6 days ago against the Rockies. I know he’s dominating at home but also facing the offensive powerhouse that is the Baltimore Orioles. My first choice is Waino, but if you want to go cheaper, look towards Stras.
Other P I Like: Hisashi Iwakuma- $8,200, Shane Greene- $5,000 (GPP ONLY)
C- Brian McCann $3,000- I think he’s over his foot soreness and if you have followed my articles before, you know the affection I have for him. He’s started off slow but his price is way too low not to take him. He’s facing Justin Masterson who has struggled against lefties and he’s sporting a 5.16 ERA. I’m expecting McCann to have at least one BOMBpop tonight.
Other C I Like: Wilson Ramos- $2,900, Jarrod Saltalamacchia- $2,800
1B- David Ortiz $3,800- He’s had positive FP 9 of his last 10 games and 2 HRs in that span. Yesterday he went 4 for 5 with a double, a walk, 2 RBIs, and 7.75 FP. I think he stays hot against Scott Carroll and the White Sox tonight.
Other 1B I Like: Eric Hosmer- $2,900, Mark Teixeira- $3,300
2B- Brian Roberts $2,800- He’s a great price for the type of player he is. He really came alive in Minnesota ( I was at the game!) especially on the 4th of July when he went 4 for 5 with 4 extra base hits. It’s looking like a Yankees stack tonight against the righty Masterson.
2B- Thomas La Stella $2,600- His price is a great value if you’re trying to save cap space for Waino. He has 9 straight games with positive FP, and 3 straight games with 2 hits and should have a great matchup tonight against the unpredictable Dice-K.
OF TO TARGET:
Charlie Blackmon- $3,000
Allen Craig- $2,300
Giancarlo Stanton- $5,000
Jacoby Ellsbury- $3,500
Brett Gardner- $3,600
