Yesterday was a bad day if you took Anibal Sanchez as your pitcher as he lasted only 2.2 innings with 2 strikeouts and 4.66 FP. He left with a blister on his finger which we lost out on a few more FP. This is why baseball is such a funny game. Things like a blister could cost us $1,000s. Let’s get on with the suggested plays to land you a seat in Vegas.

P- Justin Verlander $9,400- In 5 games so far this season, Verlander has a record of 3-1 with a 2.18 ERA. Verlander has earned his wins his last 3 starts posting 16 FP, 16 FP, and 17 FP. I fully expect him to attack the free-swinging Twins to the tune of at least 10 strikeouts and 20+ FP.

P- Masahiro Tanaka $8,500- For a little cheaper option at pitcher today. We get the electrifying Tanaka against the Angels. The Angels were held at bay by Vidal Nuno and the Yankees bullpen yesterday. If these Angels were held by them, Tanaka should have an outstanding game. He’s facing a team that’s never seen him before and his strikeout number could rise 10 more today.

P- Wily Peralta $6,300- An even cheaper option at pitcher today is Peralta who is facing the Cubs. In 4 starts this season, Peralta has 3 wins and a 2.19 ERA. He’s coming off 3 straight wins lasting at least 6.1 innings in each of those games. With playing in Milwaukee in a dome, the weather won’t be affecting his mechanics and Peralta could have a great outing against these Cubs.

Other Notable Pitchers: Adam Wainwright $10,200, David Price $9,200

C- Matt Wieters $3,800- This pick is contigent on Wieters starting today. He’s played 4 consecutive games posting positive FP in all but last night’s game. If Wieters plays, he’ll be facing James Shields who he’s seen some success. Against Shields, he is 5 for 24 with 2 doubles, 2 HRs, and 5 RBIs but also 5 strikeouts. Be sure that he’s in the lineup today.

C- Miguel Montero $3,400- In his last  8 games, Montero has posted positive fantasy points in each. Today Montero is facing A.J. Burnett who is still dealing with a hernia. It’s only a small sample but against Burnett, Montero is 3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Other Notable Catchers: Victor Martinez $3,300, Mike Zunino $2,700

1B- David Ortiz $3,700- His price has dropped but his production is still there. Today he gets to face R.A. Dickey who is struggling with a 5.90 ERA with 24 Ks to 18 BBs and only 1 win. Against Dickey, Ortiz is 4 for 12 with 2 doubles, 1 HR, and 2 RBIs.

1B- Mike Napoli $3,600- Another Red Sox first baseman has had success against Dickey. Napoli is batting .375, 3 for 8 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs against the struggling pitcher.

Other Notable First Baseman: Brandon Moss $3,200, Jose Abreu $4,000

2B- Jason Kipnis $3,500- I love his matchup today against Ryan Vogelsong. Vogelsong is struggling so far with a 7.71 ERA and only 11 Ks. In his last 10 games, Kipnis has only had 2 negative FP games. He could bust things open against Vogelsong.

Other Notable Second Baseman: Dustin Pedroia $3,600, Ben Zobrist $3,700

3B- Adrian Beltre $3,600- He’s posted back to back positive FP and I think he can do it again. He’ll be facing Brandon Mauer who has been awful up in the Majors and Beltre should be in store for a sneaky pick today.
